Mark Howard, PT, DPT, OCS
After graduating in 1986 with his Physical Therapy degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Mark practiced in acute care, orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital before moving into private practice. Prior to opening his own clinic, Mark was a partner and Senior Therapist with a large regional outpatient physical therapy group for 25 years. During that time, he also served as the Director of the Buffalo Industrial Work Hardening Center, one of the first industrial rehabilitation facilities in Western New York.
Over the past 30 years, Mark has served as a Clinical Instructor for students from Daemen, D’Youville and SUNY Buffalo, and has served in a faculty position at SUNY Buffalo, teaching a variety of Physical Therapy courses including Orthopedic Evaluation and Treatment. Most recently, Mark has served as a Test Writer for the National Orthopedic Specialty Certification Exam.
Mark was selected by Buffalo Business First in 2012 as a “Top 50 Healthcare Provider” and in 2016 as a “Top Physical Therapy Facility.”
Kathleen M. Howard, P.T.
Kathleen graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Ithaca College. After supervising exercise programs in an outpatient therapy setting, she returned to school to complete her Bachelor’s in Physical Therapy from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 2002. During the past 15 years, Kathleen has worked in several outpatient clinics throughout Western New York, treating a wide array of orthopedic and neurological conditions. In addition, for several years she provided physical therapy to patients in their homes though a local home care agency until making the change back to the outpatient setting in 2012.
In addition to working with orthopedic and neurological patients at Howard Physical Therapy, Kathleen, who has advanced training in the area of Balance Disorders, oversees the Falls Prevention Program at Howard Physical Therapy and provides evaluation & treatment for dizziness / vertigo related to disorders of the vestibular (inner ear) system.
Dana Larkin Robbins, PT, DPT
Dana is graduate of Duquesne University. WNY is home for Dana and she remains very involved in our community. She brings excellent communication and manual therapy skills to the team. Dana is certified in vestibular therapy and specializes in treating dizziness, vertigo and concussion patients in addition to her exceptional orthopedic skill set.
Dr. Angela S Bucella, PT, DPT
Angela has over 10 years of clinical experience in physical therapy. She graduated from Niagara County Community College in 2010 with an Associate degree in Applied Sciences from the physical therapist assistant program. After working for three years as a PTA, Angela returned to college in pursuit of becoming a physical therapist. After the six year program, Angela graduated from the University at Buffalo in 2019, receiving a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. Angela has begun the process of becoming certified in McKenzie Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy, and has completed Part A for the lumbar spine. In addition, Angela has a background in orthopedic and geriatric care, prescribing therapeutic exercises and balance activities, and applying a variety of manual techniques for the spine and extremities.
Jessica Thoman, PTA
Lauren Mulawka, Office Manager
Lauren was born and raised in Long Island, New York and started her career in the health field as a home care coordinator for physical, occupational and speech therapy. In 2004 she made the move to Buffalo and at the end of 2016 joined Howard Physical Therapy as one of our receptionists. She quickly climbed the ranks to becoming our Office Manager and takes care of insurance, billing and coordinating of the office. Lauren always has a smile on her face, a positive attitude and is a great asset to our team!
