After graduating in 1986 with his Physical Therapy degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo, Mark practiced in acute care, orthopedics and neurological rehabilitation at Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital before moving into private practice. Prior to opening his own clinic, Mark was a partner and Senior Therapist with a large regional outpatient physical therapy group for 25 years. During that time, he also served as the Director of the Buffalo Industrial Work Hardening Center, one of the first industrial rehabilitation facilities in Western New York.
In 1995, Mark became one of the first Board Certified Specialists in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Western New York. This certification requires extensive clinical experience and demonstration of advanced knowledge through successful completion of advanced clinical testing. In 2005, Mark continued his academic training by successfully fulfilling the requirement for his Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
